Yuyun Yuniar
Yuyun Yuniar was born in Bandung and raised by her grandparents in Cicalengka, a small district in Bandung Regency. Growing up amidst paddy fields and gardens, she had a happy yet tough childhood that shaped her resilient character, which shines through her cheerful smile. Yuyun is a sociable person who loves making friends and possesses a strong determination to finish what has been started. Today, she is blessed with a family of six, including her husband and four lovely daughters.
Yuyun's unwavering determination led her to pursue a dream that seemed beyond reach in her surroundings, where the expectations for women were limited to completing only high school. In 1997, against all odds, she began her journey towards a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. She furthered her studies and earned a pharmacist degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung. She pursued higher education in health social sciences, and in 2010, she earned a Master of Arts degree from Mahidol University through a Ford Foundation scholarship. At present, Yuyun is pursuing a Ph.D. in the School of Social Sciences at the University of New South Wales (UNSW-Sydney) with the prestigious LPDP scholarship from the Ministry of Finance.
In 2005, she achieved another milestone by becoming a civil servant-researcher at the National Institute of Health Research and Development (NIHRD-Ministry of Health), where she dedicated 17 years of her career until March 2022. Although she enjoyed her life working in the Ministry of Health, which she considered her professional home, Yuyun decided to remain in the research field and transferring to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Among her friends, she is admired for her expertise in creating "pantun" with a spontaneous touch.
As the eldest member of Danaya Team, Yuyun simply wishes to support and accompany the team to the best of her abilities. She has an abundance of love to share and willingly lends her eyes and ears whenever needed. Yuyun firmly believes that every small act of kindness serves as a good deed, enriching her life in the present and the hereafter.
